I awoke at 5:00 AM with the home phone ringing. I just missed a call from Phil. He and Alex were ready to leave for the hospital (again). I called Phil back on his cell and said that we were mounting up and heading out. We talked with Alex briefly also. We saw our neighbor, Jim Lewis, on Route 55. He was on the way to work. We had some thunderstorms when we neared our breakfast stop at Commodore Coffee. I had a latte and two bagels. Katie called from work while we were eating breakfast. We arrived at Springfield at about 8:00 AM and picked up Erin next door. I hooked up my laptop to Phil’s network and got online easily. Cathy and Erin watched “Beauty and the Beast.” Phil’s boss’ boss (Stuart) called. I told him what was up. Phil called about 9:30 AM to say that Alex had received her Epidural. I got to work on revisions to the DCWUSAonline Activation Form. Phil kept in touch via Instant Messenger. Phone calls and emails poured in as the suspense continued. I talked with Bill about a problem with the Restore.php program due to differing versions of PHP running at Hypermart and Dandy. I resolved the problem. I got some work done on the revised TDMAActivationForm. Phil announced the birth: 12:20 PM, 8 lbs and change, mother and daughter doing well. I announced Bridget’s arrival on the Sibnet and Cathy and I made some phone calls. I inquired if Erin could come to the hospital. The answer was “yes”, so we packed up and took the Passat to Hahnemann Hospital at Broad and Vine. Erin really enjoyed being with her baby sister. After a while, Phil, Erin, and I walked around and found a Starbucks for me and a toy store for Erin. We were out and about for couple of hours. The weather was balmy and dry. Tom and Katie arrived for a visit at 6:30 PM. We all left by 7:30 PM. Cathy and I went to John Harvard’s for dinner. We watched “The Sopranos” and CYE when we got back. Matt from next door called to say that his baby daughter was born at 10:20 PM. His wife Kathy was to be induced on Friday.
